Their Mission: The Georgetown Bread Basket is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food and other assistance to those needing help in the community. They provide essential, nutritious food to families and individuals facing hardship.

How You Can Help: Hunger doesn’t happen at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hunger happens three times a day and there are many ways, both big and small, that you can help address the food insecurity in our community. The Georgetown Bread Basket needs you! You can donate food, donate money, volunteer, or organize and participate in community fundraisers. 

In January 2025, HeyRay.ca opened our doors as the drop off centre for the Georgetown Bread Basket’s Amazon Wishlist Items. Essential most-needed items to fill their shelves are just one click away. Our office is open 7 days a week to drop off any non-perishable goods you would like to donate and we will make deliveries to them weekly or as often as needed.

Their Mission: Scholarships Recognizing Resilience in Youth Living with Loss.

• To provide scholarships for the advancement of post-secondary education for youth who have experienced grief from the passing of someone close to them, have found resilience through their experience and are willing to share their story with others.
• To provide links to resources that may help  to navigate grief due to losing a loved one.
• To support grieving families by sharing our story and the stories of the recipients on what helped to support their resilience.
• To foster awareness of how community members can help to compassionately support development of resilience in youth experiencing grief.

How You Can Help: The Sutherlands and Firths are two amazing families who have turned their own tragedy into beautiful opportunities for youth struggling with loss. There are numerous ways to get involved. They accept monetary donations and welcome participation in annual Fundraising Events in the Halton Hills area.

Their Mission : Cancer Assistance Halton Hills provides free, non-medical support services to individuals and families affected by cancer in Halton Hills. Their services include transportation to medical appointments, financial assistance, and emotional support, ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone.

How You Can Help: Cancer Assistance Halton Hills is not associated with any other cancer organization nor do they receive government grants to fund their services. Their services are funded locally from donations, fundraising events and the generous volunteers in our community which means they rely on people like us and like you.
